News of the terrible fires raging in Australia over the weekend have been very sobering at this time of economic downturn. It's hard to imagine what it must be like to lose your home and everything you own through fire which may have been started deliberately. Presumably the people affected have already lost savings, jobs and livelihoods as many throughout the rest of the world. To lose loved ones as well must lead to severe emotional turmoil and uncertainty for many in Australia at this time.
Although many of us have suffered losses of one kind or another in the current economic meltdown, we should spare some thoughts and prayers for those caught up in the tragic events in Australia and if we are in a position to give practical help and support to those affected we should endeavour to do so.
